Personal: A Letter to My Sister

At some point along the way we became best friends. I don't know how it happened or what changed but it did. We are wildly different, and yet the same. We disagree all the time and I sometimes want to kill her, but in the end it never really matters. This year I took a risk and decided to make a very personal gift for her for Christmas. At the end of the book I wrote a simple letter to her about life. One day I'm sure we will look back and be glad for it. Here it is:

Sometimes, you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself.

I hope that in the middle of nowhere you find yourself. I hope that you wake up one day and realize life is full of moments that build and shape you into a wonderful woman. I hope that you find happiness in the small things in life. I hope when you stumble, you pick yourself back up and smile. I hope that when music comes on you dance. I hope that you are thankful for the bad things in life that have made you appreciate the good. I hope that you have learned life goes on. I hope you experience love and loss but never lose love. And I hope you wake up everyday knowing you are beautiful. Be proud of yourself and know your worth.

I love you.
